Since 1981, under the corporate name The Wine School Limited, the Sommelier Wine Academy will educate, train, and conduct professional classes for candidates looking to work in the wine service industry. The Sommelier training is built on the foundation of service and knowledge of wine. Sustaining the title as the premiere sommelier program in the Northeast, our graduates have a working knowledge of service and wines to accommodate any service industry needs. These needs extend, but are not limited to, work in restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and wine stores. The Sommelier Wine Academy curriculum is based on the wine regions of the world, basic understanding of main grape varietals, and various wine styles produced, both everyday and noble wines, among other topics. In addition to objective material, there is a great emphasis placed on the learning how to taste and examine the wines. The courses available are suited to accommodate those individuals who range from the fervent connoisseur to the licensed professional and are available throughout the year.

We conduct professional seminars for small or large groups in addition to private or corporate gatherings. These professional seminars enable the guests to obtain a broad understanding of wines. Furthermore, it provides for them a sense of security to apply their newfound knowledge to real world experiences regarding wines.
